The assignment: work with and learn about an organization – then provide a report on recommendations to best manage strategic customers. When Josie Chiles and a team of colleagues, all MBA students at Columbia University’s business school, were given this task as a project, one of our board members stepped in and the match was made – Josie and her team would base their project around BirchStreet.
The students were given access to our management team, as well as 3 key BirchStreet customers, with the goal of learning as much as possible about all of the players – and what each brought to the table.
“I was very impressed with the nimbleness of BirchStreet,” noted Chiles. “Their ability to respond to the needs of their customers and make their product as good as it can be – coupled with the general ‘can do’ attitude of the entire Birch Street team, really stood out to me. The backgrounds of the BirchStreet team members are filled with years of industry experience and personal expertise.”
According to Chiles, “BirchStreet’s customers appreciate their willingness to customize solutions to match specific needs. When we asked them to tell us about other companies they looked at before choosing BirchStreet, they pointed out that BirchStreet’s offerings were so uniquely well-suited to their needs – that the company was the obvious choice for them. Customers noted that BirchStreet’s understanding of the industry and how to best serve it puts them in a league of their own – no one else can do the same things BirchStreet does.”
We’re very proud that our customers see us in such a positive light! BirchStreet makes every effort to evolve as we grow – and we will be taking the recommendations in the students’ upcoming report to heart.
